First attracted attention in the early part of the century for writing against Modernism, showing how it struck at the very root of the Faith. Taught at the Angelicum in Rome from 1909 to 1960. Famous for his spiritual theology, which combines classical Thomist precision with an insistant call to personal holiness. |
