Knox, Msgr. RonaldKnox, Msgr. Ronald
(1888-1957) Regarded by his contemporaries as the brightest intellect of his generation. Ronnie Knox, as he was know to many, was a son of the Anglican bishop of Manchester. He converted to Catholicism in 1917 and ordained a priest shortly afterwards. He was Catholic Chaplain at Oxford in the 1920s and 1930s. Best known for his translation of the Bible (still the best modern version) and his huge literary output both religious and secular.
